60 Taliban fighters killed, 40 others injured in air strikes

In Afghanistan, 60 Taliban fighters were killed and another 40 injured in an air strike in southern Kandahar province on Sunday.

Sources gave this information on Monday. Last night, the Afghan Air Force carried out an air strike on a group of 100 militants en route from Helmand province to Jhari and Panjwai districts in Kandahar, according to a statement from the country’s National Security Directorate.

Sources said: “The Air Force targeted a group of 100 militants in the Mandozai area of ​​Maiwand district of Kandahar, in which 60 militants were killed and another 40 injured. Some of the terrorists’ weapons were destroyed.”

Taliban spokesman Qari Yusuf Ahmadi dismissed these reports, saying that only some of its members were killed.
